Tales from the Vale

OurEvesham.Net

OurEvesham is progressing very nicely, with a complete (well as complete as we all have time for) photographic record of Evesham over a period.

It is a logical extension to widen the scope and to include interviews with people, from all walks of life, who have lived in Evesham, and the Vale, for a long time, and to record their memories.

It’s a sad fact of life that we all have to fall off the perch at some time.  If we do not record those memories then they are lost for ever.  Record it or lose it.

These oral recordings will help to help add colour, and will compliment the photographs.

I, Martin, will undertake interviews with people in Evesham, and Helen Grey will “do” the villages.  Ian Pennifold will be doing the technical stuff

Like the photographs, all of the recordings will be given to the Almonry Museum for future generations to do with as they wish.  Before then many of the recordings will be uploaded onto YouTube and, eventually, a dedicated Evesham pod cast.

Like OurEvesham the more people getting involved, the better.  So if you would like to undertake some of the planning, recording, or editing then please get in touch.  Also if you know of someone whom you think should be interviewed.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Martin Hammon.
